Monday's homework

First of all, a big congratulations to Summerside Peewee A Team 2 for getting 3rd place in the Pownal tournament.  Also a big congrats to Kathleen and Allie for doing so well in figure skating this weekend!

1. Read in French for 20 minutes
2. Mental math for 10 minutes (I'll be sending home a practice form)
3. Finish up any math work from today (it shouldn't take long).

Extra note regarding tomorrow

To celebrate literacy day, students are encouraged to come to school tomorrow dressed as their favorite literary character, or in their PJ's!  In the event of a storm, literacy day will be Monday instead.

1. Read in English for 20 minutes (I goofed last week so we get one extra English day today)
2. Mental math for 20 minutes
3. Maths (using the book) pages 143 and 144, numbers 1,2,3,4,5,7 and 8.
4. Permission form going home today!

Comma activities!

Because we are studying how to use commas this week, I thought I'd post this fun website with some comma activities:

Eats, Shoots, and Leaves.

It's based on the punctuation book: "Eats, Shoots, and Leaves," which we will be discussing tomorrow.

Monday's homework

1. Mental math for 10 minutes - work on addition.  Here are some examples of problems you can work on:
  • 14 + 58, 21 + 48, 255 + 49, 371 + 18, 125 + 49, 504 + 199
2. Read in French for 20 minutes
3. Maths - in your workbook.  Pages 54 and 55

2. 10 minutes of mental math - we are working on mental addition.  Here are some sample questions to work on:

3. Math: We're working in the math book.  Pages 124, 125.  Please do number 1, 5, 10, and 12.  Please pick 4 problems from the following list: 3,4,6,1,7,8,9,11,14 and 16.

Thursday's homework

1. Read in French for 20 minutes
2. Mental math for 10 minutes
3. A reminder that we have hot lunch tomorrow!  If you didn't get an order for no worries: the menu is pizza, garlic fingers, and chips. The chip selection is salt and vinegar, creamy dill, ketchup, plain, and sour cream and cheddar.  Everything's a dollar!
4. We'll be starting a new math unit tomorrow, so enjoy the break from math homework;)
